The Studio in York, SC

A Space for Craft, Rooted in Tradition

In the heart of York, South Carolina — surrounded by historic buildings and a growing arts community — sits a quiet workshop where glass, lead, and light come together.

This is where I work. Not a showroom or gallery, but a place where time slows down and tradition lives on. Every piece begins here: drawn by hand, cut on the bench, shaped with tools that haven’t changed much in a hundred years.

A Historic Town with an Artistic Spirit

York’s historic district is a place that values craftsmanship — from old masonry to ironwork, pottery to stained glass. I’m proud to be part of a local creative community that includes other artists like Spinning Out Pottery Studio, just down the road.

My studio isn’t open to the public, but it’s filled with materials, sketches, tools, and the kind of quiet rhythm that only comes from hands-on work.

Built for Focused Work

The space is simple, intentional, and tuned to the work. There are no distractions — only tools that earn their keep:

  • Glass cutters and grozing pliers

  • Soldering irons and patina brushes

  • Yellow stain and vitreous paints

  • Lead knives and straight edges

  • Racks of colored glass waiting for the right light

  • Badger brushes and dipping pens
